The IAEM Bulletin is published monthly by the International Association of Emergency Managers to keep members abreast of association news, government actions affecting emergency management, and research and information sources. The publication is also intended to serve as a way for emergency management colleagues to exchange information on programs and ideas. The print edition is 16-24 pages, plus there is an extended online edition of up to 40 pages.

The Bulletin is distributed to 3,000+ emergency management officials each month, representing all levels of government, industrial, commercial, educational, military, private, nonprofit and volunteer organizations in the U.S. and around the world. The newsletter is also sent to allied organizations and legislative representatives with a role in emergency management issues.

2009 Special Focus Issues
February 2009: EM Communications Deadline for article submissions: Jan. 10, 2009 Articles are solicited on emergency management communications preparedness, response, and interoperability across agencies and regions.
May 2009: Research to Practice
Deadline for article submissions: Apr. 10, 2009
This issue will focus on innovation and new ideas that are put into practice. We especially want to hear from practitioners who have put research into practice, not just researchers who have great ideas. Also, how have you taken a lesson learned from some event and applied it to a different situation, circumstance, event or organization?
July 2009: Faith-Based Organizations in Response and Recovery
Deadline for article submissions: June 10, 2009 An article could focus on a specific organization, or it could share how a community utilizes assistance from faith-based organizations, documenting lessons learned. In the United States, faithbased organizations have a special function because of governmental as well as individual agency rules. We would like to learn how faithbased organizations respond all around the world; there may be similarities or differences.
October 2009: Emergency Management USA: United We Stand

The special focus topic will match the theme for the IAEM-USA 2009 Annual Conference
